The Dunnville Airport, then designated as Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) No. 6 SFTS, Dunnville, was a single-engine school for advanced flying training for fighter pilots during World War II. Enduring years of abandonment and several more years as a turkey farm, the facilities had fallen in to a state of poor repair until it was purchased in January 1999. Rezoned for industrial, aerodrome, and special events use, all existing buildings and utilities have been restored to their original state.
Our vision for the airport is to provide both a transportation hub and economic engine for the local economy. By making air transportation available and using the surplus facilities for small businesses and organizations, such as the RCAF Museum and Niagara Sky Dive, we're accomplishing our goals. The possibilities and potential seem endless. With a passion for the future economic health and vitality of the community the airport serves as a means of prospering the region and providing entertainment and recreation for the people.
